The main tasks of the Department are:

Ensuring compliance with the requirements of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On Public Procurement", as well as normative legal acts established in the procurement of goods, works and services to meet the needs of the Ministry;

To meet the needs of the Ministry of goods, works and services from the national budget, foreign investors, international

and the organization of public procurement in the prescribed manner, financed by grants, loans from foreign financial institutions, as well as other sources not prohibited by law;

ensuring the efficient and targeted use of budget funds and (or) funds from other sources not prohibited by law;

adherence to the principles of professionalism, reasonableness, rational use of financial resources, economy and efficiency, openness and transparency, dispute and impartiality, proportionality, unity and integrity of the public procurement system, prevention of corruption;

coordination of the process of organizing and conducting tenders and related document management processes of the Ministry;

Coordinating the activities of the Competition Commission established in the Ministry and the work of its working body, which assists in the provision of technical and technological support of the Ministry;

Maintain direct contacts with the Ministry and other ministries and agencies on issues related to the activities of the department.

The department performs the following functions in accordance with the tasks assigned to it:

In collaboration with other departments of the Ministry, collects and processes the information necessary for the effective solution of the tasks facing the department;

Develops a plan for the procurement of goods, works and services to meet the needs of the Ministry;

develops draft regulations on public procurement;

The department prepares reports on its activities;

Posts ads on the website www.xarid.uz for the purchase of goods, works and services for the needs of the Ministry;

Executes documents on the types of procurement procedures established by the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On Public Procurement" and carries out public procurement;

Executes and maintains documents related to public procurement.

It is not allowed to assign additional responsibilities to the department that are not part of their duties, as well as to transfer the functions and responsibilities of the department to other departments of the ministry.
