On the first working day of spring, a ceremony of opening new general schools No. 329 and No. 330 with a capacity of 1,680 student places each took place in Sergeli district of Tashkent.

The opening ceremony of modern schools was attended by the Minister of Public Education of Uzbekistan Sherzod Shermatov and the khokim of Tashkent city Jahongir Artykhodjaev.

At the initiative of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, new houses are being built in Sergeli district of the capital and new blocks are being created. To create amenities for the population, social facilities are also being built here.

In particular, in 2019, the construction of four modern general schools began in Sergeli district. Two of them - schools No. 329 and No. 330 are ready to accept students.

It should be noted that the capacity of each school is 1680 seats. These schools have become the largest educational institutions that have been built in recent years in Uzbekistan. During the construction of schools, the experience of creating Presidential schools was used.

Each of the four-story schools has 48 classrooms, 20 of which are classrooms, 14 are classrooms for primary schools and 14 are classrooms for learning foreign languages.

In addition, the school has 15 rooms for administration, 1 room for initial military training, 4 rooms for information technology lessons, 4 rooms for circles, 3 educational laboratories in chemistry, biology and physics, 2 rooms for technology lessons for girls and boys, 1 room for music lessons and one library.

To create additional amenities for students, each school has created an electronic library for 40 students, an assembly hall for 200 people, 2 gymnasiums, football, basketball and volleyball fields.

In order to ensure the quality of education in these schools, candidates were selected who for many years effectively organized work in schools and won the respect of the teaching staff. School supervisory boards selected principals from the candidates presented. School teachers were also selected on the basis of tests that were conducted from 26 to 27 February at the Institute for Retraining and Advanced Training of A. Avloni, heads and specialists of the public education system.

According to preliminary data, the creation of new schools will create 438 jobs (including 292 teachers) for young professionals. Schools can create additional jobs with an increase in the number of students.

School administrations are now accepting applications for enrolling children in educational institutions from people living in the area.

“The President pays great attention to the development of public education. A resolution of the President on the creation of "Modern schools" in Uzbekistan was adopted. The schools that opened today are the result of the first steps in this direction. Such schools will be created in stages in all regions of the country,” the Minister of Public Education of Uzbekistan Sherzod Shermatov said.

At this stage, lessons will be conducted in the state language. In the future, with the availability of highly qualified teachers, classes with other teaching languages can be created.
