The final round of a show contest among the best of children’s ensembles took place in Samarqand. The event was organized by the Ministry of Culture and Sports, Oltin Meros Foundation, government and public organizations.
The attraction of the young people’s interest to music and art is the integral component in upbringing comprehensively advanced generation in the republic. Modern art and music schools provided with all necessary facilities are constructed in urban and rural areas.
The contest favors the familiarization with music and art, revelation and support of new talents, development of the amateur talent groups, and popularization of local children’s ensembles. Over 200 ensembles took part in the selection stages of the contest. The best 14 teams competed in the final round.
“I’d like to note that contestants performed classical songs – katta ashula, - along with the folk, variety, dancing and vocal art,” said Avaz Mansurov, pro-rector of the State Conservatory of Uzbekistan. “This is the evidence of the high interest and desire to the national song creativity in children.”
During the contest the ensembles demonstrated national customs and traditions inherent in their regions and performed the classical and world’s music.
The children’s folk-ethnic ensemble Quralay from Boysun district of Surkhondaryo region was found the best. The first prize went to Navnihol group from the Samarqand Arts College, the children’s makom ensemble Karo Ko’zim from Qo’qon of Farg’ona region came second. The third prize was shared by the representatives of Bukhoro, Namangan and Kashkadaryo regions.
